Broken Love </3

Broken Love A Poem by Shannon Math
"

Read the title.

"
I tell you all the time...
"Your forever mines. Never forget that."
You tell me the same answer as always.
"You know that forever and always, you'll be mine."

The same routine everyday.
That is until we die.
You say we'll be together in the afterlife.
I believed you.

We showed our love to each other...
EVERYDAY!!
We wrote in my old car's roof...
Mike+Mai= 01-21-90

It's still there.
Even when we're tearing apart.
It hurts me every time we fuss and fight.
I know that when the thing we wrote in the car disappears...
I know our love wasn't meant to last.

It's been a couple of long, hard years.
The thing we wrote disappeared.
It only did because you cheated on me,
While I still was in love with you.

Now I still am in love.
You moved on...

Although I thought that the flow of this poem wasn't as good as some of the other things that I've read from you, I liked the idea behind the piece, in particular the part about writing the names on the car roof. There was a real sense of sadness and anger in this piece that I could relate to, and I thought that the last two lines summed up the entire poem perfectly. I found your thoughts a little bit hard to follow at times, so perhaps a little bit more care could go into the execution of the piece, as the foundations are definitely there to create a fantastic poem. :)
