Jamie (for the wild stars I picked for you)A Poem by Count Humilussilence of meIt’s sunny but J it’s cold outside as the shades draw themselves today I understand I do I have reclused before No responsibilities today So… I indulge in writing and nostalgia I light candles during the daytime darkness I set up my typewriter on the ground Settle myself comfortably down Two bottles of wine Your picture as big as the grandest Warhol panoramic pop art Someone is playing a record in the dark of you saying, “I love you too.” Teeth chattering head stones Alone But it’s all I know since you I dream of dreams I’ve had about you Beautiful in every way imaginable Cartoon butterflies and sad imaginary images You are the kiss that wakes me up from this heartbreak coma I never felt sincerity as strong as my heart beats for you We got to this place But this place is our blank canvas With your voice painting colors And my typed out words being glued in no order Fleeting life really could be Not close if I had you next to me My bed is big and bigger each day you are gone I let the candles wax weigh on my shoulders I’ll never stop writing you until the day your kisses are meant for your humble narrator © 2009 Count HumilusReviews
