What IS Behind the Green Door?

What IS Behind the Green Door?

A Poem by Count Humilus
"

silence of me

"

Blurry lights

Wine for drinks

Red

Green

Blue

Pink

I have you in focus

I hear Macy Gray playing Nirvana songs (unfortunately)

I hear the bourgeois masses

But really I hear nothing

Feel you against my body

A first kiss

You excuse yourself to the bathroom

I realize the room is spinning and the ceiling is the floor

I took a klonopin and drank like young mc

And now I leave

A patented move

Not a word to anyone

I catch a cab

I throw up out the window

He is yelling

I am still spinning

I pay him his fare

Lose my mobile in his chair

As I get out the earth moves not to my advantage

I fall in the rose bushes

Resting in thorns

I finally stopped spinning

I stumble into my home

Break a door on the way into the bathroom

Throwing up with my dog by my side

 Worried sick all night

Good dog

Not one bad bone inside

I fall asleep

Wake up to a few girls

Wondering where I had gone off to and how CW was quiet mad I split

They take care of me as friends should

Sleep

With Hendrix by my head

And a friend by my bed

I didn’t hear from CW for many nights

I finally called and explained the night

She was not impressed

But

Gave me another “chance”

I wouldn’t do it over again

I wouldn’t play it cooler

We had our moment in the sky

Pulling back

Leaning on me

Leaving me on a rollercoaster ride

I miss this and that

But mostly that

If I had one quick wish it’d be to remember the name of that amazing sushi roll she always used to get

And to see her that first night at the sushi bar

Hypnotized by her eyes and kiwi slang

So far away

So close if effort was put in

But in the end

I am 24

She is 36

This is just pretend

I can’t have a baby in 6 months with you

I can’t fix the baggage he discarded when he left you

I can love you for a moment in time

So we shined bright

Quick

The star burned brighter every night

Until one night the star had burned out

And all I could see was an empty space on my balcony

You write,

The star burned brighter every night
Until one night the star had burned out
And all I could see was an empty space on my balcony

Your lines have a pragmatism that must exceed the poem's circumstantial appointments made obvious in your final lines. A fine Poem. Sabine*

Nicely done; however, the format needs much, much work, but not everybody thinks so.

Great write.................good flow with the story continuing along that holds my interest to the very last word!!! And, I really like the format - it is refreshingly different!
How wasted we can be and find how much of life we miss and lose while we are!!
