Letting the Wine Breathe

Letting the Wine Breathe

A Poem by Count Humilus
"

"silence of me"

"

This morning smells like spring in the city

Like kissing someone you truly love

If I keep thinking like this my heart will make my mind misty

Opaquing clarity and killing time,

I look away,

towards what could only be you in the distance’s moments we allow to transpire

I unravel

I regress

Kicking gravel

My heart is a mess

I do so many things with you in mind

In this world I don’t know any better compliment

Your eyes used to be so kind

I look down,

at the sky and all it’s illusions

We jump in the ocean

You fell from a star

When I saw you it was in slow motion,

Like watching you walk into the open from afar

This morning smells like you

I go through a slideshow in mind,

of all the beautiful things you used to do

I miss this starry eyed girl

That held my hand at the beach

That made me happiest and feel my best

Just goes to show

TRUE LOVE

What a mess…

Worse then any come down

And better then any drug you could get in your blood stream or ingest

Nice sentiment and nicely written. Again, the format does so much for a poem. More importantly, it allows the reader to see the poet's mind set in action, where thoughts begin and end, how mood shifts are compartmentalized and bleed into others. When everything is centered, you eliminate the aforementioned, because hitting the center button is so much easier. Nicely written though.
