Pink Light

Pink Light

A Poem by Count Humilus
"

Silence of me

"

Waiting for the wine to sit

For my mind to rest

My joint resting in between 4 elephants

One- Wise beyond years, Idealist

Two-Boisterous and a drunk

Three-An elephant of words

Four- Cocky, wreckless and sneeringly cynical

I pace,

Stumble

Jump in a pool of grandpa’s moonshine left over

I sleep in his eternal house

I heard him

Felt him

Across the country I did

I am here now

Placing rocks on his grave

Sitting where his life was taken away

Drinking until I hear his echo

Not scared nor should I be

I am at the end of my cycle

He was a young man at heart just his start

Maybe at my end

We can switch

And he can smile each year

Not somewhere false

Where rights are gone

He could have been anything

And I have fallen strong

I give my heart away too much he says

Never trust a woman

Woman are not friends

F***s

And obligation

I am younger then I seem

Glasses guarding people for my centuries gleam

I love her more as the sun rises

I stare in a pink haze wondering where I am each night
