SilenceA Poem by Count HumilusSilence of me In Turning off the phone- No abandoned hospitals Predatory banks Judgments Nose in the air peer pressure Ailments Loves starry eyed implosion Just silence A deep breath Now I finally have silence The wind whispering against my windows Sporadic memories tickling the back of my brain I hear a car drive by My dog walking on the hard wood floor My tenant pacing above My soul aging just a bit faster then the rest Inhaling smoke-Exhaling thought I stop typing I hear all these “silent” happenings all at once I close my eyes- And try to revel in all this silence Which in truth, there is no such thing It was never silent at all Nor will it ever- I scream © 2009 Count Humilus |
