A Poem by brianna vega

she sat

against the wall of rocks

watching the waves pound against the sand at her feet

time has passed so slowly

as the sky begins to grow colder and colder the waves roll in stronger

pulling away in desperation

trying to get as far away from her feet as they can

the water runs from her in fright

before rushing foward again in a fit of foam and bublles and sand

scratching the earth in violent thunders

she closes her eyes and breathes in the salt

shes ok for now

she knows as soon as she steps off this natural shelf everything will change

everything has changed

time has passed so slowly

she measured it in breathes

in heavy lids and silent nights

she measured it in dog eared pages

and books that fall apart

like lost lovers.

once again with the metaphors ..like it..the pictures you draw in words...entrancing..and descriptive..I like the part about the waves retreating from her feet..very good stuff here...and the books that fallapart like the lost lovers...dogearred pages of nights up reading and lost loves ..insightfull.
