A Poem by brianna vega

there once was a time when i thought overwhelming pain couldnt get much worse

i walked through pans labrynth

escaping the dawn of day

lids heavy as osmium

i fear id never wake

i roamed through lost lands

playing with the heartless fey

whose truth could never slay

through the night we would play

dangerous games never the same

the rules could change upon a whim

love is so similar to the hate

beautifully grotesque

my eyes would never stray

open wide amazement

it was hard to refuse the fruit they gave

and though i knew one bite would lead

into entrapment, imprisonment i would never leave

and though i knew one bite would lead

me to death forever thier slaves

living forever with thier faery ways

yet my human heart had to part

grotesque beauty

i left them in the faerie hills

enchanting music calling out

in the wind playing from the bark
