secret cigarette

secret cigarette

A Poem by brianna vega

She felt the cold air hit her face heart pumping adrenaline rushing. The creak of the door made her hesitate shes done this plenty of times before. The great escape the rush of freedom shocking her skin in the cold air. It was only smoke break but she could feel her body resisting the shaking. She always shook, emotions overwhelmed her. Though her mind stayed calm her body always gave her away. The night was quite except for the little dog barking next door. As she inhaled the smoke she closed her eyes to bask in the freedom of the night. She stood perfectly still holding the smoke in her lungs like a long lost lover.

When she went back inside she could hear her mothers snores. Oblivious to her little escapade.
