going home.

going home.

A Poem by brianna vega

"and if i was you id make this a simpler story"
rolling waves
windows shaking
the winds blowing through this dry town
dust storms in the desert
i never felt more alive watching lightning strike in clear desert skies
rolling buses on our way home
to this old ghost town we were born in
"and if i was you id make this a different story"
rolling waves of heat rise from the pavement
and its still dark out
the sun baked this poor town till it was dried out
love baked this town till it was dried out
and im sitting here cause love has dried out
every california wet dream that once consumed me
windows shaking
as i count the howling coyotes
trying to glimps them in the dark sea of sand
tumble weeds fly past were on our way home
to this old ghost town we were born in
lightning strikes the sky lighting up the night
i never felt more alive
the sun baked this town till it was dried out
love baked this town till it was dried out
and im sitting here cause love has dried out
every california wet dream that once consumed me.

I like this... the repeated lines stick in the mind, and this plays out almost like a song. Vivid with the visuals, bringing the emotions to life...
