A Story by brianna vega

you dont exist to them.

they sit there with a survey asking every question imaginable but they never look up.

they never look to see the pain flickering between your eyes.

its ok if you say themost outrageous things,

if the list of your drugs goes way past the lines provided.

flooding the borders and white of the paper.

if they dont look at you then your not real.

these horrible things never happened to you really.

its just an answer.

if they dont look at you what happened to you in child hood wont keep them up at night

it wont have them questioning the world

thier god.

so they sit there asking questions that make you ashamed

questions that you lie about

and they never once look up.

when theyre done they diagnose you with depression and move on

and your not changed.

and at night they hand you a tiny white pill

that wont help fix everything

wont help fix this person in pain

that was nver looked at by her doctor

this pill wont make you happy

it wont help you slleep

no

it wont fix anything

it will just make your stomache hurt.

I'll have to disagree. I'm on anti- depressants and it have changed my life for the better. Also my counselor does care. My pastor and her are good friends, and I talk to both of them sometimes and she asks how I'm doing and asks for him to check on me on Sundays.
But then I've heard about how bad you can be treated while in a mental hospital, so your experiences are bad. I'm sorry to hear you don't feel any better.

Oh man! This is a really deep poem! It's true that a lot of doctors do that to their patients and I think that's just horrible. Doctors that don't care for their patients are just scum. Ah! Sorry I was starting to rant a bit! Your poem is very good and it depicts the feelings of a patient not being cared for excellently! Great job!
