A Story by brianna vega

they woke her at five thirty.

some how she had drifted into a pale sleep.

as the wrapped the band around her arm she sat like a plain doll.

they stole sticky sweet blood slowly.

then wrapped her up and sent her back to bed.

she couldnt fall back asleep for hours.

when she finally did she missed breakfast.

too tired to rise she had lain under her light coverlet.

trying to keep her eyes closed and her mind from poundig.

her stomache growled angrily but when she rose to seek food the nurses denied her.

so she walked back to her room and awaited her turn in shower.

she had no clothes and only a small ketchup cup of the green soap/shampoo mix.

it made her hair waxy and brittle.

the shower was a mess.

cups and dirty towles thrown everywhere and no hot water.

she left feeling slightly dirty but she would not allow any emotion to reach her heart.
