abortion poem

abortion poem

A Poem by brianna vega

I find it hard to think

To speak or breath

The weight of his world pushing down on me

I made a life

But shall I keep it

His face already haunts me in my dreams

And in my babys eyes

Will his face be restored in my mind

How can I keep such a lil thing?

How can I raise that which was unwanted

Pressed on to me unwillingly

They say don’t play god

But how can I not when god played me

How can I give life to that which is unwanted

or send it off to a home much worse

with out it knowing why I cannot keep it in my arms

how can I raise that which was unwanted

never being able to accept it fully

never letting it have the love it fully deserves

the weight of his world is pushing down on me.

I thank you for this. I've been trying to find a poem that puts abortion in a sympathetic light, that doesn't bash it as "murder" or "evil". You show the pathos behind abortion, which a lot of people choose to ignore. It is not a cold-hearted murder; it is a very difficult choice. And the examples you use are very true.

"They say don't play god/But how can I not when god played me".

Perfect.
