rainy days

rainy days

A Poem by brianna vega

gray overtakes the skies
as i watch water spray from tires
creating tiny rainbows in the passing light
I wonder where these people go
what homes they return to
how many lovers sit side by side
fighting crying kissing
how many lonely souls
driving through the night
singing alone to songs that touch thier souls
do they wonder about me
sitting alone as they pass by
staring out my window into thiers
do they feel my aching soul
eyes following as they go

Hi,
I'm not really into reviewing, but thought your work deserves a little more credit, so here goes.
Although you mention music in this piece, the overall feeling I get from it is silence. Even the traffic comes to my mind as if I'm viewing a black and white silent movie.
I think you capture the feeling of disconnection superbly, and after the words have ended, it leaves the reader thinking about all those cars and their occupants, blissfully unaware they were only bit part players in your moment. Thinking about that in black and white, of course.
Enjoying your words, reading more.

Thank you. The moment felt black and white.
The title drew me cuz it's been raining like crazy where I'm at too.

Feels like a very melancholy reflection. And I can almost hear the splashing as cars drive by.

Kind of feels like a blues song to me.

Or cinema noir - the subtle longing and and somber reflections.
