smokes arrival 2

A Story by brianna vega

after a cigarette smoke decided it was time to look for a bed for the nights to come. as he roamed the streets memories of the past began to flood back at him. though the town had changed slightly it still kept the same spirit. as he walked passed store windows he almost expected to see azure to come flying out with her faraway eyes, always distracted buzzing on some thought idea or story. forever inspired. forever seeking to understand the world around her. He missed how she wouldnt speak unless she felt it was absolutely neccessary, nowdays people seemed to speak to much. Often saying things they didnt mean as if words were expected. as he reached his motel a feeling of exhaustion began to settle over him. Behind the counter a quiet man handed him his keys, attempting to yell at a child running around the office begging for attention. The tv screen fighting for its own recognition behind him. His room was downstairs, as he entered the doorframe all his thoughts left him as he took in the cream colored walls thin blankets and rattling windows. at least it was a smoking room. he placed his belongings on the floor layed on the bed and sank into oblivion.
