smoke

smoke

A Story by brianna vega

i heard him enter the room

almost immediately my body became stiff

i couldnt force myself to move to turn around

"i needed to see you"

i knew it was him the minute he passed that doorway

his energy set fire to my nerves

i almost forgot to breathe

the room became unbarebly loud

yet no words were spoken

i could feel my mind spinning speeding

and trying to stop

but i couldnt hit the breaks

When the title said Smoke, I just had to read it. Not what I expected. So much better. And yeah. It's a story, and a bloody good one. It does the very best thing that a story can do. It lets the reader work to fill in the blanks themselves. Brief and to the point, but opening up so much. Brilliant job.
