Once

Once

A Poem by Costa Siwale
"

Reflecting upon when i was inspired

"

I once wrote

With a passion,

With a fire as fierce as youth.

Blank pages soaked in ink,

Spilling fragments of my soul,

I used to write

For dreams and imagined worlds,

For colors and endless tales,

For deathlessness.

I wrote, for escape and catharsis,

Lost for hours, in a delicate slope of fleeting words.

I wrote with absolution!

Within the pages, my spirit confesses

I wrote, that these words would come alive,

to complete my salvation

I wrote, till it broke me.

till i faded away ...

You have out done yourself with this one. Use of multiple techniques from type font to color ( use of faintness on the word soul made it look ghost like) and the chef kiss was the last word in yellow that can not be read by my eyes leaves it up to the reader to fill in this word knowing that it is there and intended but not recognizable. Brilliant!

Oh! Such passion! Costa Siwale!
And that is what we seek always in everything.
Blank pages soaked in ink as if it is our own blood.
I feel your passion, Costa Siwale, you are drenched in passion, my friend.
Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for stopping by Dessi, I appreciate the review. To passion!
No! You'll never fade away as long as you're writing!

I get what you're saying, though.

The ink of our youth is so full of dreams and fantasy and beauty.

Yours still is! Thanks for sharing.

I will keep on writing. Thank you for your review!

The coloring technique is interesting and it's shows emotions what the words intend to tell

I wrote like this once...maybe I am too removed from my own writing to write like that anymore.
Maybe it broke me as well.
I relate to this...thinking of my old red notebooks full of printed poetry in real ink...sometimes smudged...maybe from the emotions leaking.

You really did great in filling the poem with emotions. It truly described how a poet feels while creating a work. Amazing.
