Jumping FencesA Poem by CosminDZSJumping fences in your dreams
Jumping fences in your dreams
you end up in your childhood neighborhood before you left. But it felt different, like you’d never gone out into the world Your worldview was a bike ride down to the corner, you were only four but you still remember how the sun hit the sidewalk and how people’s backyards would be arranged. It was a different lifetime, with a different lifestyle, and the buildings looked so different from down there all fenced in. You ran through your home and it was just like you left it except there was no furniture and you were moving out. It’s okay, it’s easier to play this way so you blindfold each other and try to find one another. Yet you ran out blind on the street only to find yourself waking up. © 2014 CosminDZS |
