War in the North
A Poem by CosminDZS
war comes from above
I
see a war brew in the north
like magnets, metal ships
attract to the pole.
Is there a goal?
Wars are only fought over
pieces of coal.
Long lost, the explorers
who left,
the last quiet place on earth.
Silence of the epochs,
broken by a
tumultuous roar
or drones that soar.
Air raid sirens,
over an empty base
blast the snow,
it only turns to paste.
To snowball the earth,
in its icy grips,
down with the pole,
ill blast it to bits.

Another flowing and cantering poem full of metaphors that invoke images of bygone wars with a final stanza that stops the reader in mid flow and brings them back to today.
