.on loneliness.

.on loneliness.

A Poem by Britanie

my heart aches when you are away from me.& sometimes i can barely get myself together
it is a familiar, impending grief that sticks to my ribs
only to be relieved when i am in your arms again
and again i feel that anticipatory pain for the next time
and the next time
and the next
goodbye.

i want to hold you against me so as if to keep you a little bit longer,
your heart beating at the same time and pace as mine.

i think i scream
come back

only in my head

fading out.

I could feel the lonliness, like a heavy,
overpowering need for your lover.
The need surpasses his nearness and
replaces other appetites to the extent
that you see only him, feel him , smell
him in complete, inexorable surrender.

felt the heaviness of a breath in this. Powerful and emotional. Nice job!
