Prism of My Heart

I wrote this poem for an assignment in high school.

 

I'm Mauve
A Wild country rose
Relaxed, appreciative for the little things
Painting pictures in the sky with clouds
Thankful for the sunshine and birds
Blooming happiness all over the countryside
Then other days I'm sapphire blue
Cold, glassy, cynical
Emotional, sensitive, lonely
Inspired to write mystical things
Wishing for fairness in the world
Looking for a release
Hoping for a herculean thunderstorm
Crystal teardrops trickling into puddles
