play

play

A Poem by cooncomemasi
"

slow down

"

We become serious and rigid

We lose our child like sense of wonder

We grow taller

not necessarily wiser

We forget to play

To laugh til it hurts

Everything becomes formal like ties and shirts

We long to be silly

To be carefree and filled with joy

Brought back to a simpler time

No one to impress

To a time with no stress

Feeling free to make a mess

Happier with less

We weren't striving to live

We were simply being

Clearly seeing

No one gets out of this alive

you can't take anything with you

Live out loud

Live on purpose

Play and be light hearted

Seize the day

Bless people with the words you say

Dance like no one is watching

Ask questions

Play is contagious

My joy gives you permission to feel the same

Break the mould, break the rules

Do the opposite

Stand and not sit

Make mistakes

Don't give a s***

Life is not all that serious

Play more

stay curious

' Play more _ stay curious '

A great ending to a fine stream of words.. words about the loss of adventure and innocence, when time taught lessons worth remembering like how to place a buttercup under a chin and see if.. or share a stickytoffee that's seen better days.. or..

Shirt and ties cripple the spirit, so do bad fitting shoes that lace up from souls to top of head in the clouds. I love the touch of your words, the way they pull down the nous of growing old and facing the fact that you've let go the kite's cord and it's gone.. far, far away. Perhaps.

'Bless people with the words you say
Dance like no one is watching

My joy gives you permission to feel the same..

Promise, i mean to. Pleaase post more and often.
Very insightful. Somewhere along the line we lose our exuberance, our playfulness our zest for life. Life's batterings warp our minds and we lose sight of the simple joys. I blame the IRS for this.
