I Need to Know

I really care about somebody, but destiny just isn't on my side for this one. So I wrote this song.

Someday, the world will be bigger than a big 'ole building full of all your friends.
Someday, love will be bigger than a spark of affection between a couple of kids.
Someday, maybe you'll realize you need me the same as I need you.
I already do.

Even if it won't work out in the end, could we just pretend?
Even if we're giving each other our hearts, just to let them be ripped apart....
Even if our paths don't cross again down the road,
I need to know....  Do you feel the same way too?

I want you to move on, I want you to be free,
I don't want you moving on too far without me.
I want you to feel good, I want what's best for you,
But if you run away I'll be lost without you.

Author's Note

That third stanza's supposed to follow a different pattern than the rest of the song. It's a bridge or something. Not really up to date on song terms, but that's what this is supposed to be.
