Conflicting Thughts of Exhaustion

Conflicting Thughts of Exhaustion

A Poem by Austin
"

Yesterday I hit a point where I was more exhausted than ever before, and things were still being demanded of me.

"
You're exhausted.
You want to sleep.
You want to die, because you know sleep is only temporary.
You want to take a while to recover.
But you know that you can't.

The man keeps yelling at you.
You have to restrain from yelling at him.
You have to be calm... he's your father after all.
You have to hold back the forming tear.
But you know that you can't.

It's impossible, you keep thinking.
You must not take your anger out on him.
You must not fall over dead.
You must not sleep even a wink.
You must realize that you can.
