Feel

Feel

A Poem by Austin

Don't turn your back on what you feel.
It is always relevant and real.
Don't self-destruct to try to cope.
Just extend your faith and extend your hope.

I've been through this all before.
I closed it off; I shut the door.
I gave up hope and died inside.
I gave up emotion and tried to hide.

All of this was just a waste.
A cookie with a bitter taste.
It looked all so good in thought,
but something so pleasant wasn't what I got.

I learned sometime you must grieve.
Cry big tears and just believe.
You've been hurt and you're in pain.
Just don't let it all be in vain.

Someone wants to help you through.
They want to talk it over with you.
Someone understands, you see?
And that someone is me.
