The Mind at its Debate

The Mind at its Debate

A Poem by Austin

Yes?  No?  Yes?  No?  Yes?
- A mind trained to race.
No? Yes? No? Yes? No?
- A mind speeding faster.
Yes?No?Yes?No?Yes?
- A mind nearing maximum velocity.
NoYesNoYesNo
- The mind is fastest.
Yes?No?Yes?No?Yes?
- The mind is slowing.
No? Yes? No? Yes? No?
- A mind nearing conclusion.
No?  Yes?  No?  Yes?  No?
- The final review.
No.
- A conclusion is reached.

The mind trained to race.
The mind trained for logic.
The mind trained for puzzle.
The mind trained for strategy.
The mind trained for careful study.
The mind has reached it's conclusion.
But was the conclusion correct?

Yes?  No?  Yes?  No?  Yes?...

And on and on and on.
The mind trained not to know.
The mind trained to need help.
The mind trained so carefully.
The mind wonders, "What if I'm wrong?"
The mind wonders, "What if I'm right?"
