Youthful Innocence

Youthful Innocence

A Poem by Austin
"

I have been blind to the fact that every rose has a thorn in some way, form, or fashion. A friend warned me and now I'm here.

"

I've been blind,

Eyes hidden behind

A veil of reassurance.

I shoulda recalled

The painful falls

And the building of endurance.

     It's all still good,

     But I seriously should

     Use my common sense.

     I must use my head

     And simply shed

     That youthful innocence.

I've been naive,

But now I've recieved

Advice from a friend of mine.

And I must repent

Youth's innocence

And leave it behind.

     Every rose has a thorn

And soon enough a prick is born

     And silently blood drips.

     If I'm wise

     I'll use my mind

And wear gloves before the grip.

Revel in what may be left of your youthful innocence. Just remember to be careful is my advice, but don't be afraid to take risks. A gloved hand isn't always necessary, but a cautious hand is wise. :)
