Depression Hurts

Depression Hurts

A Poem by Austin

Depressed is such a strong word.

Harsh in the minds of others.

Not enough people have heard

just what it is it encovers.

Depression can mean many things,

and I do not know them all,

but without help, depression stings.

Even the strongest will fall.

Lack of sleep in bed at night

happens as result.

Aches and pains are also right

for depressed youngsters or adults.

It can be caused by lack of friends

or recently spiked stress.

Seems the pain just never ends

leaves your life a mess.

Some might even end their lives

becuase they feel so bad.

But if one works hard, really strives,

they can fight off going mad.

So listen up, you several, you

and hear just what I say.

There is something you can do

to keep depression at bay.

First go find a friend of yours

and tell them just what's up.

They'll help you unlock those emotional doors

and all that other stuff.

Nextly, work hard, try to see

that some things are okay.

You'll find you can be happy

and that you're here to stay.

If you suffer like I did,

listen to my words.

Do not keep your problems hid,

because depression hurts.

Very great rhythm and rhyme. This also had a very big message to open up if you are having issues. Most people have someone whether a friend or relative to talk to and sometimes that is not enough. If it affects your entire life and everyone around you you might need therapy.

This is for each person to weigh out for themselves as depending on your friends or family you might find your personal info not only being distributed but also misinterpreted. I don't trust friends or family myself anymore due to such experience but I think there may still be some out there that others can trust. Loved your message though, if feeling too down a person has to do something about it.
