deathbed.

deathbed.

A Poem by falling_toxic_rain

my mouth has come to dry...
the thirst for life fades...
I'm lying calmly on my deathbed.
starring out the broken window.
doc's can't find whats wrong with me.
but it's spreading-
I hear 'em say it's for the best.
wonder if i can just take the long rest...

the day has come-
the doc's cold hands touch my hand
there's a moment of silence
where I can't manage to say
and my voice cracks away

a mask is put to my face
"hon-please count to three
and take a breath."

one-all my accomplishments
two-the loved one's I met
-three-

I really like how you ended it so simply, yet that one word can have enormous power.
