Perception

Perception

A Poem by coobiesaid
"

from Aldus Huxley's "Doors of Perception"

"

Looking at these wholly supernatural flowers

capable of manufacturing a transcendent country of the mind—

a crucifixion shall be serene,

a stigmatization shall be intolerably sexy.

Inner Light catches the eye,

a sacramental vision of reality.

The unfathomable mystery of pure being

is stored in bamboo legs.

Draperies

Naturalistic paintings and sculptures

under the influence of the most uncompromising intellectuality—

the Mind at Large oozes spontaneously in the human body.

They will become conduits,

constantly changing structures.

I shut my eyes

to see what was going on inside my head.

I cannot say—

sheer existence.

Mescaline intoxication

furthered research in the field of vision

profound changes in consciousness

suffocating interior—

working in Canada

enlightening reports—

Trivial!

Like things in a five-and-ten.
