Brett Favre's LegacyA Story by Cody C
On this writing I will explain my opinion of Brett Favre and the status of his legacy that he will be leaving behind in the NFL. I’ve always like Brett Favre as a person. He has showed countless of times throughout his lengthy career how good of a guy he is. He’s fun to have in the locker room, he’s a great teammate, he has raised millions for different types of charities, and also he promotes his wife’s campaign against breast cancer. In my opinion he’s just an amazing individual, a guy anyone would be proud to say that he’s their role model. However, being a diehard Minnesota Vikings fan since the age of 4, I must say I haven’t always enjoyed the existence of Brett Favre. Playing for the Green Bay Packers most of his career Favre has been a nightmare for the Vikings. A couple years ago however, through a couple of retirements, Favre landed on my favorite team. 2009 was a magical year for Minnesota all because of Favre even though we came up short in the NFC championship. 2010 was a failure however Brett finally showed off how old he was. Also in 2010 allegations of Favre sexting and sexually harrassing a women have arisen out of nowhere. These incidents happened over two years ago and are now just finally coming to light. Do I think these allegations are somewhat false and only being revealed for self promotion? Yes I do. Do I think this will ruin his legacy of being one of the greatest quarterback of all time? No, I sure don’t.
