A Poem by conversations with her pen..

I didn't receive a fancy manual

I don't have everything figured out I still self-doubt

still pondering

creating and embracing sometimes I don't even understand my own frustrations

Patience

It's been a challenge lately

but when its all said done

maybe ill be happy

just maybe

so eager to introduce my craft

when I close my eyes It all naturally aligns then reality calls

and tells me I'm loosing track of time

struggling trying to keep hope alive

enjoying the process but I still criticize

contradictions at a all time high

Just going through the motions

still chasing this dream of mine

If I had to name this chapter in my life I would name it

redefine

I love this. I feel on a level of writers block and just life block, this relates to everyone so well. Sometimes we get stuck, we plateau and the drive to want to keep going can become harder and harder, but i love how you mentioned “still chasing this dream of mine” because regardless, you’re not stopping. This poem is bery relatable and i very much enjoyed the flow of this poem, I loved when you mentioned “enjoying the process but I still criticize” because we are definitely our biggest critiques out there! Overall, this poem spoke to me and I really appreciated it.

We truly are the worst critic of our own art. In every step of the way there is a bit of self doubt that lingers and plays in the mind. Can people really judge us as harshly as we judge ourselves? They can compound the negativity but they can not match our own doubts and worthiness. Those inner contradictions can really throw a wrench into the whole creative process and make things more difficult than need be. I'm always struggling with my own self doubt in the art I create. Your poem really spoke to me in that regard. Thank you Jada for sharing your art with us.

I am still striving to write a decent poem, Jada...
I think we all feel this as writers.
When will I write something really memorable.
