Thing One

Thing One

A Poem by Consuela Burke

Thing One
Petals uncoiled
With only
Self-Persuasion
In dry satin
For the
dark occasion

For musty
Loosened flesh
De-feathered
After molting

The bee
So full
He leaks
On segments
Forced to quiver

How revolting.
