Rainy Day Divine

Down my steps  into rainy day divine
I remind myself  to mimic the sun
Brilliant, giving of my inner warmth

Through the door, hoping to work like mad
I bolster myself to, proud, imagine
This comestibles counter is swanky

Back under the roof where my heart waits
I recall now, my life's a celebration
Holding my creations tight, I sing aloud

Under the covers in my quieted house
I relive my day, glad, for the point was
Me loving me, not phony altruism

Very well written poem. Liked every stanza and of course, your note. So true.

Mimic the sun. What an instruction. Must beware of Pollyanna though.
Sweet child-like voice, with an easy rhythm.

This is a wonderful piece, very self motivational... these are the words anyone looking for inner faith to read. Very uplifting and inspirational...
you are right, you must love yourself first and foremost.

I love the lifting beauty of your words, and your author's note as well. So true. The words really spoke to me: "My life's a celebration..." I want to live that every day, come what may.

this is a great up lifting poem. I am going to have to try to have this attitude more often myself. Thanks for posting in the group and it is good to read your wonderful poetry once again.
