Such WordsA Poem by Constance-Outspoken
I won't write any more love poems
filled with sap, hope, or raw desire No longer shall I pen such odes as former lusts could once inspire For such words remembered bring nothing more than emptiness When the heart's intent's misplaced within one inundate with bitterness I won't pledge allegiance anymore to any cause other than my own No further shall I meander into even the soul it seems I've known For such words are spoken, impassioned laden with promise and care Such words, merely lies and omissions- alas, the honest heart is something rare © 2010 Constance-OutspokenReviews
