Of Poets and Their Purges

Of Poets and Their Purges

A Poem by Constance-Outspoken

Poets are not made by publishing firms nor
professors of prose in finer institutions
born apart, borne of imaginings are we,
existentially emoted by the universe

Eternal seekers must all proper poets be
though there's limit to just what can be found
for we are naught more than vehicles housing
all that someone else dared not attempt to say

True poetry's discovered not in text, or in tome
but riding the breath of inspiration,
perched and waiting on one's cerebral wave,
to be vomited, staggering onto some page

I feel there is a stanza missing just before the last, though here is where I found myself.

That is such a wonderful way to describe the true art form and artist... I am so into prose poetry more cause to me poetry is feelings and feelings are not in perfect rhythm so why would your expression be. Such a wonderful piece.

Absolutely love this Constance. This gives me such a HUGE feeling of happiness. You *understand*... I'm not completely mad. And you've written it perfectly.

Yes, the title of poet is one we have to pin on ourselves. As poets, we are self recognized, and self ordained; but of course, there are poets, and then there are poets...
