Dime Store Dolly

Dime Store Dolly

A Chapter by Constance-Outspoken

She sits on the shelf, for awhile,

Gathers dust though she's so pretty

For all should fear her feminine wile-

She must be cruel and raw and gritty

Doubtless, she would break you

Run away, sure she'll only cheat

She has no feelings as others do

Stern and cold down to her feet

Surely she's incapable of sorrow

Pale blue eyes are always full of lies

Shooting hearts with her poison arrow

Flipping fair hair, she'll eat your insides

Just a dime store dolly, like the others

Perched on end of the uppermost shelf

Constantly tsk-ed at by wise old mothers

For such a one must be full of herself!

Ah, that little dime store tart, the w***e!

How is it she dares to go out and seek

For those boys who should want more

Than a soft and blushing heart and cheek?

If you shook the dust from her golden hair

Looked at those eyes more closely

Perhaps you'd see what's really there

Underneath the glass and plastic, see...

Dime store dolly has a warm beating heart

She only wants what everyone else does

That's all she wanted from the start...

She'll sit untouched as the shops close.
