Opposing Forces (love)

Opposing Forces (love)

A Chapter by Constance-Outspoken

My heart lies bare and prone in your two hands
Vulnerable as a bird with broken wings
The hands on the battered face of my clock
Say it's too late to give in to my insecurities
For my heart, that little broken bird, sings

The swelling tide of joy rises within
And sweeps out the flames of my fear
Relinquished is my will to fight against
That which I both desire and shrink from
When you hold me, and whisper in my ear

Apathy, and loneliness and vacancy have passed
Vanquished by need, and joy, and you
And I know that as the tide recedes, we'll still be standing
Hand in hand, eye to eye, two hearts still beating
Though yet I  fear, I know this love is true
