Flowers' Powers

Flowers' Powers

A Poem by Constance
"

Ten given words, 40 word length constraint... all words had to be in order: perfume, splendid, presence, oblivion, purer, glass, sky, serene, two, merciful

"

Lilacs emit soft perfume
splendid in their offeratory presence
a moment, I find, of oblivion
a recall to purer times
glass blue doll's eyes
naively capturing the sky:
all becomes serene
as when I was two
merciful

power of memory

This was constrained by the challenge, but a fun write, and a real memory.

You had me at "Lilacs" lol...(my favorite perfumed flower)!
Very well penned with beautiful sentiments. I loved the
mention of "glass blue doll's eyes". Very original and unique...
well done!

a great attempt with the 10/40--amazing the strength that appeared with few words and every word having purpose in this little poem. thanks for sharing this. tovli

Terrific job! It was a great read, and it would have been nearly impossible for me to stick to that kind of challenge. My favorite was the glass line. I imagine it would have been a bit harder keep that one in there for a less talented writer. :/
