Sigh...

Sigh...

A Poem by Constance
"

Wrote the last part first and the first part last, then flipped it around, because it made more sense that way. :)

"

Your sigh, to me, always carried the weight of the wind

Carrying so much of our passion forth in one outburst,

Leaving me gasping in its wake, as you held me so near.

That sigh was lovelier, more inspiring to my longing ear

Than any song ever made by any mortal soul, and always

Left me in awe that I should hold such beauty in my arms.

Your sigh, to me, always carried the weight of the wind

Carrying so much of the heavy world within its outburst,

Leaving a vacuum in its wake, as you silently walked away.

That sigh was cruder, meaner, and less desirable to me

Than any foul words you could have uttered in passing

Leaving me exasperated and empty, you walked away.

Hey! Here I am, as promised:)
You know how this poem made me feel? As if.. I was short of breath. I was LITERALLY sighing as I read it, breathing harder, panting. No kidding.
I felt the sharp emptiness, cutting through me like a knife. I felt the loss, the pangs... the "vacuum" of it all. the transitions from warmth to cold. Beautifully, and, more importantly, realistically painted :)
Take care !

This is just a brilliant, beautifully-written poem, so well organized and creatively structured with its parallel and opposite emotional reactions to the same non-verbal act, the meaning of which was so differently freighted in vastly different contexts. Definitely a favorite.

sharp words to the man.
well written and really gives a delve into such a simple but effective function of the human body: the sigh.
it says alot my dear, and so does your writing.
well done

You write with such beauty and elloquence. I loved how you used your descriptive powers here. I also enjoyed your use of irony as that same tool, the beauty of a sigh, ushered out the same love that it so meaningfully supported. Great work.
