Solace For a TearA Poem by ConstanceThis was created through a word list from a challenge here at the cafe. I tried to use each more than once. The words are: tear, silence, sorrow, chasm, solace, twilight, abhorrence. They are in italics in the poem.A tear, I fall into the widening chasm of sombre twilight Knowing abhorrence where once was tender solace Fearing the silence wraps me- a cocoon of bleeding sorrow How dare you say the world will change by tomorrow?
The sun will rise, and find that this little tear has dried Shriveled with the first rays of light, forever silenced Nothing left but a little salt on the cracked, barren ground I fade out of this world of disillusion without uttering a sound
Will you shed a tear for me, or will there be silence still? Will your abhorrence follow me to my twilight slumber? I will find solace, perhaps, in knowng, the chasm in time Will swallow you, inundate you with foul sorrow, sublime
