Little Brother (For Kizz)

Little Brother (For Kizz)

A Poem by Constance

It was Kismet when we found one another

Little lost thing that you were, I took you in

My long lost friend, my little baby brother

When I'm down, or ill, you come and lay beside me

You brush my face and hair with your cheek,

We talk, but you don't say a word, just listen politely

Cooing rather unintelligably, your voice so meek

And remind me that I am loved, befriended

You go out, sometimes, and leave me missing you

But you always come back, sometimes bringing me

A precious little gift you've found- like a dead bat

It may not seem like it sometimes, but I'm glad we

Have you in our lives, my chubby old tomcat.

A sweet poem through and through! I love the metaphor of your cat being like your brother. Cats are lovely best friends, and unlike little brothers, they only annoy you when they're hungry! A lovely poem, as usual. A very tender, short but heart-warming one. This poem is very very cute. I'm sure cat-lovers and owners of cats world over will agree. Thanks for sharing!
