Hopeful manner of dress brought power,

He: smiling at those with titles, frowning

At outsiders who can't vote- unimportant heathens!

Flashing handshakes everywhere, darted

Amidst whistles of mudslingers' bombs

 

Meanwhile: Pestilence smoked cigars

Grandstanding in the background, admiring

His muse

Short because it had to be, word choice stunted by what was given... yet I like it. The story of most every Politician one will meet. :)
