Objects and Lessons

A Poem by Constance

Beneath the snow a lily bulb waits

In brightest sun a fern wilts

Tell me which you want to be.

Will you fizzle out under fire

Or wait and bloom in time?

The mirror shines but if you look

At it when the light hits it right

You see a thousand spots there

It doesn't matter where you seek

You'll always find a bit of dust

Plain grey stones don't sparkle

But they weather the storm

And when the light shines- well,

You'll never spot a flaw at all

The entirety is perfectly flawed

At night the morning glories close

When all the bugs would steal

A bit of pollen from their mouths

The rose is always open wide

A haven for theives and vagabonds

Shall you be a lily or a fern?

Or a mirror or a stone?

A rose or morning glory?

The choice is yours alone.

Constance
I have insomnia. This wrote itself. Interesting, anyway.

Oh very nice indeed! Well written and flowed beautifully...
don't you just love those poems that write themselves?
Very beautiful and I enjoyed the read. Bravo!
