Love is a Wave, Advancing in Phases

Love is a Wave, Advancing in Phases

A Chapter by Constance
"

Kyrielle

"

It is not found within young lover's gazes

For there is a difference 'twixt it and lust

Ask the old and they will tell you how

Love is a wave, advancing in phases

Lust comes in sudden fiery blazes

Most mistake for her cousin, true love

Who takes patience and persistance-

Love is a wave, advancing in phases

You'll find her mostly in wrinkled faces

The kind of love all living people seek

She blossoms in youth, perhaps and yet

Love is a wave, advancing in phases

There's often a stall between stages

When hearts fear or become weary

But those who conquer her can vouch

Love is a wave, advancing in phases

hm, I liked this very much. I loved the line with wrinkled faces.....touching romantic poetry. Interesting to see love as a wave. hm.. I see the whole universe as billions and billions of waves.

beautiful... I have found myself at the crossroads of love and lust and wondering which it was... a definition is black and white, but a feeling is way too comlex... you did a great job of capturing that here!

Hi C-

I love the poem. I think your rhyme scheme makes it very powerful. I really do not think it needs anything but just as an idea, think about adding another stanza that instructs the young to seek out the old. Kind of a recap of stanza 1.

Just an ideas to think over. It is wonderful as is.

A great one, Constance. Love is both simple and complicated. Sam
