Hell Beckons, Heaven Awaits

Hell Beckons, Heaven Awaits

A Poem by Constance
"

A Kyrielle

"

Lost in the void that life's become

I'll rage against all consequence

And do what is immoral to some-

Hell beckons, yet heaven awaits

Eager to please, eager to fall

I never shall tell a man no

Hoping that one I shall enthrall

Hell beckons, yet heaven awaits

The world stands still for one moment

I die a little death each night

As pure lust becomes a torrent

Hell beckons, yet heaven awaits

Living to seek, one day, the touch

That can wash away the others

I'm not sure why I sin so much

Hell beckons, yet heaven awaits

I totally feel this. This is numbness mixed with rebellion mixed with loneliness.

Times like these produce the best literature. And this is so true - for men and women. Thanks for this one.

I like how the end lines continues on to all the stanzas. Those really tied them all together. To me, this poem is about humanity and living life with our flawed selves. Good job!

Nice rhythm to the poem. I love the second last line best, it says so much about the human condition.
