Emotional Storm

Emotional Storm

A Poem by Conrad Wrobel
"

A weird experiment with the past, present, and future of an emotional outburst.

"

Priority

Tranquility, once a calm in the vast ocean of emotion, a serene chasm that separated the raging currents of feelings.  Such gentle creatures they were, so fragile that they would bruise or shatter with the slightest touch of an opposing emotion.  However, as docile and calm as they appeared, they would grow into a rushing torrent of pent up thoughts, able to engulf one, then suddenly able to erupt like a volcano.

     The Eye of the Storm

Nothing has prepare you for this moment, because the feelings, like lava, are overwhelming your defenses, melting through with such raw power, like a dam, being breached by the forces of hell itself.  Now that your creations igniting, there is nothing to do but wait for the raging storm to blow over.

     A mighty aftermath

1, 2, 3!  The storm will reach a climax; the insignificant voice in the back of your mind will reach out to tug you back into the realm of control.  You won’t know what havoc you wreaked, but you will feel guilty anyway.  Your personal force may sustain the flood, returning you to the present, only to find yourself in a sea of chaos much like the one you just escaped…but this time, the feelings will be less a fiery demon that spurs your fighting spirit, but that of a cooling angel that begs of mending the damage you have caused. All a primal force that will restore your judgment and reawaken your mind.  you will attempt to right your wrongs, and prepare your defenses with knowledge born from your experience against the swirling tempest of chaos that threatens to engulf you once again.

I love it!! Great imagery, I can taste the saltiness of the ocean, I can see me in an old relationship! Hello, Conrad Wrobel! It's been so long since I've been on here! So hello again, to my first friend on here.. so many moons ago :-) I really really loved it. I hope this was about a relationship, because that's where I took it. But that's the beauty of writing, anyway, isn't it? It doesn't have to be. But I LOVE IT! AGAIN, The metaphor of the storm, yet details enough of your (or their) emotional torrent/torment. I am so glad to be back here, and to have read you again! Hope you're doing well!!

This was as creative a piece of writing as I have read, an unusual form; very interesting and pleasing to read.
