My Darkest Moments

My Darkest Moments

A Poem by Mary Swingler
"

We all experience tragedy which surrounds us like night. We can also experience the strength loves supplies as we overcome these bleak moments in life.

"

Life is filled with pain and sorrow

emptiness captures tomorrow.

Desolation envelops me,

darkness is all that I see.

Oh dear God, my brother is dead!

I wish that I had died instead.

Death stole his life, just like a thief

I can’t escape my loss and grief.

Distressing nightmares plague my sleep.

Tears roll down my cheek as I weep.

Time will heal the anguish I feel.

Love will endure every ordeal,

Regrets will not intrude

Anger will not protrude

Joy and hope will exude

My life is renewed.

I love the juxtaposition going on in this piece of poetry. You have the depth of despair in the beginning but then the ray of hope at the end. death is all consuming when it first happens, but when you realize that you must rise to the light because that is the only way your loved ones would have had you live...you have started to complete the grieving process. Beautiful poetry

I am be positive, want to struggle to life, and capable to convert negativity to positivist. Life run under with nature thought , what you think that nature given you support , only need your positive act.

I want to climb hills, you hold my hand tight
I want to achieved height, you keep mine hand tight
I will bring star from sky for you
You accept star with smile

Another great piece of writing. They say write what you know, well sadly the theme isn't allways of joy but our experiences of life, and death, give us the passion that puts our feelings on paper.
The poem's ending gives us great hope. A sad poem with an ending of courage that will lead us on.
I love rhyming couplets for the way they roll along, they are usally harder to write due to finding meaningful words that fit and rhyme but you did it anyway. And to get the meter right is important, you did that also.
keep on writing.
