Enemy of broken dreamsA Poem by AlanaLJayThrough years of silence you were there watching me, my
fragile mind becoming your drug.
Together with emotions of bitterness and love is where you kept me. No, I was not your prisoner as you never held me
captive. My captive state was scars of
memories and time long gone. These scars run into the cells that created me. You created
me from what was once your soul. Leaving me in darkness and keeping me within your
gravitational force is what feeds me. If you ever wanted to keep me in the
light, try to expose me to it, I would surely evaporate into the mist of
forgotten dreams. Dreams that shaped our future and our past never
materialised in the present. In the present day we find ourselves in hatred of positivity
and thrive in the negativity that beams out from the depths of unwanted lust. Frustration builds as we are blocked from expressing the
dark desires that fills the beautiful essence of worlds only ever dreamt of. Waking from these dreams has become our enemy. This common
factor that shapes us keeps us together. This common factor being your gravity
that will not set me free and after years of being drawn to you I realise
you’re keeping me down. Let me go. You’re my only hope © 2013 AlanaLJay |
