days that fall

days that fall

A Poem by concreteallaroun

One day I will ask myself

“How free do I want to be?”

When you grow up you learn that life is a compromise

Which is hard for someone who wants everything

But wanting nothing is much worse.

-

Many days I will tell myself

“This is how it’s supposed to be.”

When you grow old you see that life is a sunrise

But everyone knows if you look directly at it

Your eyes will water as your skin starts to burn.

-

Everyday I will see myself

As less than I want to be

When you grow weary of routine, of everything you’ve seen

You realize the things you miss most

Are what you never had to begin with.
